Kimberly A. Lapworth, an attorney in the firm’s Philadelphia office, was elected a partner effective January 1, 2015. Kimberly concentrates her practice in the areas of toxic and mass torts; products liability; drug and medical device litigation; and transportation law.
She received her Juris Doctor from Widener University School of Law in 1995. While at Widener University, Kimberly worked full time for an insurance defense firm in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Kimberly received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Temple University. At Temple University, she majored in psychology, minored in criminal justice and graduated magna cum laude. Kimberly is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

Maryanne Kolenovsky is a partner and represents health care providers in all medical specialty fields. After becoming licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in 1977, Maryanne worked in both nursing and hospital risk management. This background makes her especially committed to assisting professionals during litigation and disciplinary hearings. She has extensive trial experience in the defense of medical, dental, nursing and chiropractic professionals. She has tried numerous cases to verdict in venues throughout the boroughs of New York City, Nassau, Suffolk, Rockland, Orange and Columbia Counties. She has represented physicians, dentists and nursing professionals in disciplinary matters before the Office of Professional Medical Conduct and the Office of Professional Discipline. Maryanne earned her J.D. from Pace University School of Law in 1991 and her B.A., cum laude, from Queens College of the City University of New York in 1987. Maryanne was named in the top 1% of trial lawyers in the state of New York for 2012. This selection was based solely upon actual results in trials.

James Modzelewski focuses his practice on defending health care professionals—including dentists, oral surgeons and physicians—in malpractice matters and defending general liability matters. He has over 14 years of experience in these areas and handles all phases of civil litigation, including trials, as well as alternative dispute resolution. James also has considerable appellate experience, including appeals in the New York Supreme Court Appellate Division in the First, Second and Third Departments, and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals. James earned his J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law in 1998 and his B.A. in Political Science from the University at Albany in 1995. He was chosen as a New York Super Lawyer in 2014. Super Lawyers is a rating service of outstanding lawyers who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. Only 5% of practicing attorneys in New York achieve this designation.

Rachel Greenberg is of counsel to the firm and focuses her practice on medical malpractice, dental malpractice, personal injury and general liability litigation. For the last 18 years she has handled the daily management of cases from inception through trial preparation. She has researched and prepared post-trial motions and appeals and has successfully argued before the Appellate Division, Second Department and First Department. Rachel earned her J.D. from Fordham University School of Law in 1995. She received her B.A. from Brooklyn College in 1992 (Phi Beta Kappa). Rachel is admitted to practice in New York, as well as the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
