Rawle & Henderson LLP forms Child Advocacy Practice Group

Rawle & Henderson LLP formed a Child Advocacy Practice Group in April 2013 to improve its attorneys’ service to the Philadelphia Support Center for Child Advocates.  Rawle & Henderson has assisted the Support Center since the program’s inception in 1977 as an advocate for victims of child abuse and neglect in the city.

The practice group is chaired by Brett Wolfson.

Rawle & Henderson LLP organized the practice group so that individual attorneys’ pro bono efforts can be better coordinated to support the Center.  The Child Advocacy Practice Group at Rawle & Henderson LLP will also allow the firm to host CLE events on issues related to assisting the Center, such as representing child victims in criminal court, representing medically needy dependent children, and representing older youth.

The Philadelphia Support Center for Child Advocates provides legal assistance and social service advocacy for abused and neglected children in Philadelphia County. Child Advocates is one of the most successful volunteer models serving children in the country. Since its founding in 1977, Child Advocates has trained more than 10,000 attorneys. These attorneys have contributed pro bono services valued at more than $5 million annually.
