Bio

M. Susan Toth is an associate in the Philadelphia office of Rawle & Henderson LLP.  She concentrates her practice on civil and commercial litigation. She has successfully represented domestic and international clients in state and federal courts, as well as before administrative agencies, in a variety of matters. She has substantial experience litigating products liability and construction-related matters, as well as representing healthcare professionals in professional liability claims. Ms. Toth also has experience with breach of contract and employment related claims, including those under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and The False Claims Act.  While Ms. Toth has extensive experience with all phases of litigation, she also looks for creative resolutions to disputes, in an effort to minimize her client’s exposure to protracted litigation.

In addition to her litigation practice, Ms. Toth serves as a Certified Arbitrator for the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas. Her commitment to community engagement and pro bono work is evident by her service as a Board Member of the Legal Clinic for the Disabled, which provides direct legal representation to individuals with physical disabilities in the Greater Philadelphia area, and her representation of children in the foster care system as a volunteer attorney with the Support Center for Child Advocates.

Ms. Toth earned her Juris Doctor, with a Certificate in Comparative and International Law, from The Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law, where she was selected as Chancellor of the Moot Court Association. While in law school, Ms. Toth was a law clerk for the Montgomery County Maryland State’s Attorney’s Office’s major felony team. Ms. Toth also completed graduate legal studies in international human rights law, at The Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, Geneva, Switzerland.  She received her Bachelor of Arts from Villanova University, where she was a member of the Honors Program.

Ms. Toth is admitted to practice before the Pennsylvania and New Jersey bars, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. She is a member of the Philadelphia Bar Association and American Bar Association.
