Bio

Hillary C. Cox is an associate in the Pittsburgh office of Rawle & Henderson LLP. She focuses her law practice on toxic tort litigation.

Hillary earned her J.D. from Duquesne University School of Law in 2016. While attending law school, she served as senior staff editor for the Duquesne Law Review and editor-in-chief for Joule: Duquesne Energy & Environmental Law Journal. She served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Joy Flowers Conti, Chief Judge, U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, from May 2014 to August 2014. She was a member of the Appellate Moot Court Board and competed in the ABA’s Client Counseling Competition in 2015 and 2016.  Hillary was a member of the Louis L. Manderino Honor Society and received a McGinley Public Service Law Fellowship. She earned the ALI-CLE Scholarship & Leadership Award, a CALI Excellence for the Future Award and the Duquesne Law Alumni Excellence in Writing Award.

Hillary received her Bachelor of Arts in Classical Civilizations and English, summa cum laude, from Duquesne University in 2013. She graduated in three years with a cumulative 4.0 GPA. Hillary served as president of the Pre-Law Society and was valedictorian of Duquesne's McAnulty College and Graduate School of Liberal Arts. She received the Duquesne University Department of English O’Donnell Awards for Excellence in English and Excellence in Service. She also received the Phi Kappa Phi Award for Outstanding Research.

In 2017 Hillary's article "The EPA’s Clean Power Plan and Its Effects on Southwestern Pennsylvania," was published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing in The Urgency of Climate Change: Pivotal Perspectives, edited by Gerard Magill and Kiarash Aramesh.

Prior to joining Rawle & Henderson LLP, Hillary was an associate with a Pittsburgh law firm specializing in special education and employment law.

Hillary is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and West Virginia, and also the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia. She is a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association and the Pennsylvania Bar Association.
