Rawle & Henderson LLP is pleased to announce that Peter J. Neeson of the Firm’s Philadelphia office has been elected Chair of the Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section (TIPS) of the American Bar Association (ABA). Peter Neeson was officially installed during a ceremony held at the American Bar Association's 2006 Annual Meeting in Honolulu, Hawaii, August 3-8, 2006.
TIPS is the only national professional group to bring together plaintiffs’ lawyers, defense lawyers and insurance and corporate counsel for the exchange of information and ideas. TIPS has more than 36,000 members and 34 general committees that address substantive and procedural matters in areas including aviation and space law, fidelity and surety law, medical malpractice, transportation law and others.
With more than 400,000 members, the ABA is the largest voluntary professional membership organization in the world. As the national voice of the legal profession, the ABA works to improve the administration of justice, promotes programs that assist lawyers and judges in their work, accredits law schools, provides continuing legal education and works to build public understanding around the world of the importance of the rule of law in a democratic society.

Peter J. Neeson has been a practicing attorney for 28 years and is the Chairman of Rawle & Henderson’s Environmental, Toxic and Mass Tort section. He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New York, and has been rated AV by Martindale-Hubbell. Mr. Neeson was individually honored when he was selected by his peers in an extensive nomination and polling process conducted by Law & Politics as one of Pennsylvania’s Super Lawyers for 2004, 2005 and 2006. He is also the founder of the National Trial Academy, now in its eighth year at the National Judicial College in Reno, Nev. Through the National Trial Academy, students receive hands-on courtroom experience using state-of-the-art technology and methodologies ranging from computer animation and litigation software technology to instruction on voir dire by nationally renowned jury consultants.
